Witches Wednsday

I sat down, well meaning I emailed one of my favorite metal artists Dilek who has some serious artist talent when it comes to all things awesome and metal. So for my last post on the East Coast, I'll be in Austin Texas tomorrow. I shot her some questions and asked her to send over some of her favorite work over the years that she drew up, enjoy!
1.Dilek, you produce some of the best DIY Metal/Punk flyers this side of 1989, what draws your inspiration to be so rad?

Thank you for the kind words, I would say my mother because she raised me to pull off whatever I want to do, I've got to say that she definitely shaped my work ethic. My love for Heavy music and Artwork are just the two huge elements in the mix.

2. How awesome is it to make flyers for bands that you enjoy to listen to, and does that help speed up the process or add more stress because you know its something to be proud of and that the band you happen to be making the flyer for are going to sell and possibly sell prints of your artwork?

It definitely is pretty crazy to think that I worked with some of my favorite bands before I was even the legal age to be drinking. I am the kind of individual that is driven by a huge amount of pressure, It really helps me to accomplish many things when I have a lot riding on what I need to pull off, It's really more of a combination of the two and the possibility of selling prints of my work along with the band's image and name. I really like the idea of the marriage of the two, my artwork and the band that I am working with. It's definitely exciting and gives me great joy in what I do, Posters are probably one of my favorite things to do, the whole process is very laborious, and I really put my heart and soul into the whole thing. the drawing, the rendering, the screen printing. It is all done by me. It's also great to know that I am handing people an original screen print. I wouldn't want to create anything less for myself and for my artwork.

3. List your top Ten records of 2011:

Men On Men Cause; A MASSIVE DUDEPOCOLYPSE OF A BMX VIDEO

My review of BMXFU5 is up on their site so go play a game of website tag and win a game of a fishing hook to the taint.
Forewarning this is hard to watch.
Ah High School was a blast eh?

Sunday Slaughter

Harvey Milk is so fucking heavy. You probably already love this but give it another listen.
These are two of my very personal favorite songs for various reasons, and not because I'm mega stoned right now. Fuck.
